NRA Basic Pistol

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation.  This Instructor Led Only course takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. It will be completed in a single weekend over 2 days.  All firearms and ammunition will be provided.

More Details: Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, shooting fundamentals, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

Following completion of the course, students will have the opportunity shoot their own firearms while working with an instructor.

The course is held at the Exeter Sportsman's Club in Exeter, NH. On the first day, the course begins promptly at 8:00AM and runs all day until 5:00PM (although it usually ends earlier). On the second day, the course begins at 9:00AM, and the required portion ends at Noon. However, there will be additional shooting and instruction available from Noon on for anyone that wants it.
